Bridgewater Community Unites for Clean Up Australia Day 2025
Bridgewater community volunteers unite for successful Clean Up Australia Day, removing rubbish from the creek and surrounding areas.
On Sunday 2 March a small but dedicated group of volunteers participated in our Clean Up Australia Day event. We were able to take advantage of the driest conditions in approximately 25 years that had exposed the creek bed and the rubbish that had accumulated within it.
The Council provided simple but important support by emptying local public bins prior to the event, as well a general encouragement of local Clean Up Australia events via social media.
About four very large bags of rubbish was collected from the Creek and surrounds with plastic wrappers and dumped furniture waste being the predominant type of rubbish within the mix of collected waste. Thank you to everyone who volunteered.
